TITANIC – The era. The tragedy. The myth.
An immersive journey back in time
LOKSCHUPPEN ROSENHEIM /ROSENHEIM
Welcome aboard the Titanic! Starting Friday, 14 March 2025, the new exhibition TITANIC – The era. The tragedy. The myth. opens its doors at Lokschuppen Rosenheim, inviting visitors on an unforgettable journey through time.
More than 300 original artefacts from the Titanic, her sister ship Olympic, and the legendary Harland & Wolff shipyard tell stories of hope, departure, and tragedy. But this exhibition is much more than a collection of historical objects – it seamlessly blends the past with cutting-edge technology, bringing history to life.
WE ARE VIDEO has played a key role in this extraordinary project, creating an interactive installation of the ship and producing a moving film depicting the sinking of the Titanic. With the powerful narration of Christian von Aster and the stunning music of Philipp Kampmann, the moment of the ship’s tragic demise becomes an emotionally gripping experience.
💡 Exhibition Highlights: ✔ Interactive & immersive projections – the ship comes to life ✔ Emotional film of the sinking – featuring an immersive soundscape ✔ State-of-the-art media technology – making history visually tangible ✔ Original artefacts from around the world – exhibited in Germany for the first time ✔ A look at the past and the future – what can we learn from the Titanic’s story?
Visitors will step into the atmosphere of the early 20th century, experiencing the zeitgeist of those on board while also gaining insights into the future: How do innovations continue to shape our travel and our lives today?
A particularly touching moment: During the grand opening, a very special guest was in attendance – Joan Randall, daughter of a Titanic survivor and lender of her “Pocket Survivors.” She moved all invited guests with her family’s story and declared that the Titanic exhibition at Lokschuppen Rosenheim is the best she has ever seen.
But what sets the Lokschuppen exhibition apart from other Titanic exhibitions in Cologne, Ludwigsburg, Milan, or soon in Munich? This is what makes the Rosenheim exhibition truly unique:
Scientific insights made accessible – current, well-researched, and easy to understand.
Interactive experiences – visitors can actively engage and explore.
The sinking of the Titanic is portrayed in an innovative, artistically poetic, and immersive video projection.
Family-friendly & interactive focus – complemented by events, workshops, themed programmes, and a family tour with a travel diary for children.
Various tailored guided tours by our experienced exhibition guides, catering to different audiences.
Audio guide – offering knowledge on multiple levels.
Educational programmes for schools – age-appropriate and engaging.
The Lokschuppen exhibition combines edutainment with a unique blend of immersion and original artefacts. It is tailor-made for Lokschuppen and stands out with a high-quality design that does not simply focus on the ship’s history but places the Titanic precisely in the context of its time – from social developments and technological innovations to art and fashion. This exhibition engages all the senses and creates a lasting experience that brings knowledge to life.
